As well as director Diana Palmer due to give birth and welcome into the world a new member of her family in October, Diana will now be working in conjunction with COMA in Sydney’s Rushcutters Bay as an in-house consultant and in a curatorial capacity.
COMA aims to bring a dynamic and engaging focus to contemporary international art. In addition to an attentive curatorial approach it is characterised by a comprehensive understanding of artists exhibited and represented. Director Sotiris has designed COMA to not only exhibit and promote emerging and established artists but to simultaneously concentrate on the conceptual aspects of their practice relating to these exhibitions, and foster an educational environment for the viewer.
Prior to founding curatorial consultancy Palmer Art Projects in 2013 and then the permanent exhibition space, PALMER, in 2015, Diana had professional appointments at The Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney (MCA), Sullivan+Strumpf, Olsen Gallery and Sotheby’s as well as being appointed guest curator of THE ART HUNTER in 2014, a major exhibition of International and Australian art sponsored by Jaguar. She is currently sits on the Board of Underbelly Arts Festival and is on the committee of the Woollahra Council Small Sculpture Prize.
Although it is sad to close the book on the Woollahra space, we are very proud of the work to date and wish to thank all of the artists and supporters who have been a part of the journey. The credits, if listed, would be greater in length than there is space, but our gratitude to those who have helped make Palmer Art Projects a success up to now and into the future is endless.
Please contact Diana Palmer on the below details and look forward to keeping you updated on the exhibitions and events at COMA and off-site into the future.
